The multi-day kata learning experience held at Zingerman’s Mail Order’s working warehouse in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
May 20-22, 2020
Taught by Mike Rother, Tilo Schwarz, Jeffrey Liker and the crew of Zingerman’s.
If your teams struggle with separating personality from business, opinions from facts, hunches from observations, kata can help. Kata brings the rigor of the scientific method into the workplace. It’s a powerful, proven recipe that you can learn and use along side your existing processes—or on its own.
Kata was developed by Mike Rother, who’s been studying and teaching about Toyota’s legendary lean methodology worldwide for over two decades. He created Kata in the Classroom and Catapult exercises, two standards for learning how kata works. Mike will lead much of the instruction and exercises in this lab.
Tilo Schwarz created Kata Dojo, a hands-on training tool for the Coaching Kata. He will be Dojo Master for this lab exercise.
Dr. Jeffrey Liker, author of the Toyota Way, will show how you can use kata as the cornerstone of putting lean principles into action.
The lab combines classroom teaching, hands-on exercises and time on Zingerman’s warehouse floor.
Kata is used across a range of industries, from health care to consulting, manufacturers to the military.
This lab is for managers, supervisors and team leaders. It’s best to send teams of two, but one person will still take home a wealth of information.
Space is limited to 30 participants. Add quantity 1 for each person attending.
The lab starts the morning of the 20th and ends early afternoon on the 22nd.
Breakfast and lunch from Zingerman’s are included.
After purchase we’ll email you more information about your visit.
